Lunar Eclipse form Greece
March 06, 2008
This photo showing the low-hanging Moon in eclipse was captured shortly after the end of totality during the lunar eclipse of February 20/21, 2008. As the Moon exits the Earth’s umbra, the region of shadow where no direct light falls, the Sun again illuminates the lunar surface. Note that this photo was intentionally overexposed. Photo taken near Athens, Greece. In the foreground is the nearly 2,450 years old ancient Greek temple of Poseidon.
Photo details: Canon EOS 400D camera, 6 second exposure, f/5, ISO 400. Time of photo is 03:55 Universal Time (UT), February 21.
