It took 15 months, but it finally all came together on the evening of May 24, 2005 when I managed to get the proper lighting balance between the rising Moon and the ancient Temple of Poseidon in southern Greece. I had to accurately position myself in order to attain the needed azimuth and altitude so as to have just the right perspective and orientation -- 22-24 minutes after sunset. Note the Moon Illusion effect. The golden Moon looks huge but is actually the same size as when it's overhead. The Temple of Poseidon was built between 450-440 BC and was dedicated to Poseidon, god of the seas, father of Orion and Pegasus and brother of Zeus.
